11 Fun Easter Ideas

Trying to think of some fun Easter activities to engage your kids in? Here are ten easy-to-implement ideas to make this Easter the best one yet!

1. Little Bunny Foo-Foo Shadow Puppets. Use a lamp as a light source and re-enact the classic Little Bunny Foo-Foo song with your kids. Forgot the words? Find them here.

2. Make Easter Goodies. Visit my friends at Food Network and pick out a delish recipe!

3. Watch an Easter movie. I like It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown.

4. Easter Mad Libs. Remember Mad Libs from when you were a kid? Well, they still make them, and there is a collection geared just for Easter.

5. Easter egg on a spoon race. Put plastic eggs on spoons and see who can make it across the finish line first. Egg fell off? No problem! Put it back on the spoon and keep on trucking!

6. Yarn eggs with candy inside. Stuff small candies inside an un-inflated balloon. Blow balloon up and tie. Mix equal parts school glue and water in a bowl. Submerge several 3-foot strands of yarn in the glue mixture. Wrap strands around the balloon making sure to not leave any gaps big enough for the candy to fall through. Hang to dry over newspaper using a clothespin. When dry, pop the balloon.

7. Read an Easter story. This version is perfect for little kids. This version is great for the school-aged set.

8. Mystery eggs. Place small mystery objects in plastic eggs and then have kids ask yes or no questions to figure out what’s inside.

9. Make a papier mache Easter egg. Find directions here.

10. Easter egg bulls-eye. Create a three-ring bulls-eye using painter’s tape and have kids take turns rolling plastic eggs to see who can rack up the most points (bulls-eye is 10 points, the next largest circle is 5 points, and the largest circle is worth 1 point).

11. Puffy paint Easter eggs. Cut large egg out of white construction paper. Mix equal parts shaving cream and Elmer’s school glue and spread on a tray or baking pan. Swirl in pastel tempera paint. Place egg on the paint mixture, press lightly and slowly remove the egg from the paint.
